Romano Pollmann rises through the ranks at Welwitschia Insurance
Welwitschia Insurance Brokers has appointed Romano Pollman as a junior claims consultant, marking an important step in his professional journey within the insurance industry.
Pollman is currently a final-year business management student at the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST). His work at Welwitschia began in August 2025 when he joined as an intern.
What was initially a short-term placement was extended until June 2026 due to his strong performance and commitment. In March 2026, his efforts were recognised with a permanent role.
In his new role, Pollman supports clients throughout the claims process, handling tasks such as verifying claim details, managing documentation, and maintaining clear communication. “My focus is on making sure every claim is handled efficiently and accurately while maintaining a high standard of customer service,” he explains.
Reflecting on his appointment, Pollmann describes the moment as both humbling and rewarding. “I felt truly honoured. It was a proud moment that showed my hard work and consistency had paid off.”
Consistent effort
The internship experience proved instrumental in shaping his professional growth. Through hands-on exposure to short-term insurance operations, he developed strong administrative and communication skills. “That experience built my confidence and gave me a real understanding of how the industry works,” he notes.
Pollmann also highlights the growing importance of data-driven processes in the sector. “The industry is evolving quickly, and accuracy and adaptability are more important than ever,” he says, adding that digital innovation presents new and exciting opportunities to improve efficiency and enhance client experience.
Looking forward, he plans to continue developing his skills through further experience and qualifications, with the long-term goal of moving into a leadership role.
Guided by values such as integrity, professionalism and accountability, Pollmann is eager to make a meaningful contribution. “I want to add value, build strong relationships with clients, and keep improving in everything I do,” he says.
As he embraces this new chapter, his mindset remains clear: “Success is the result of small, consistent efforts repeated every day.”
