Laina Nanguntuwala is 'eady to learn, ready to lead'
Since joining the Rob Youth Foundation as administrative officer in September 2025, Laina Nanguntuwala has been carving out a path as a young leader with a clear focus on personal growth, community service and youth empowerment.
Through school projects and community activities, Nanguntuwala forged both a passion for helping others and practical skills in responsibility, teamwork and time management.
“I have always believed that service begins at a personal level,” Nanguntuwala explains. “These early experiences taught me how to work well with others and take initiative, which has guided me ever since.”
Motivated by the foundation’s mission to empower youth, Nantguntuwala quickly embraced her role, contributing ideas, participating in initiatives and learning to lead by example.
She says she values integrity, empathy and consistency. “True leadership,” she believes, “is about serving others and inspiring those around you.”
Even as a newcomer, Nanguntuwala has made meaningful contributions to team projects, demonstrating adaptability, collaboration and a strong drive to create positive change. She credits her mentors and the foundation itself as major influences on her leadership skills. “Seeing how my mentors dedicate themselves to youth development inspires me to lift others while continuing my own growth,” she reflects.
Beyond her work, Nanguntuwala has a deep passion for reading, public speaking, debates and creative expression through writing short stories and poems.
Believe in yourselves
She balances her personal growth with community engagement, believing that “learning and giving go hand in hand".
Her vision is clear: to inspire young people in Namibia to create opportunities rather than wait for them, showing that youth are not just the leaders of tomorrow but partners of today. “I want to encourage young people to believe in themselves and take action,” she says.
Over the next three to five years, Nangutuwala aims to graduate in business studies, take on significant leadership roles within the foundation, and establish mentorship initiatives that equip young people with practical business and life skills.
Her personal mantra reflects her approach to life and leadership: “Ready to learn, ready to lead.”
It is a philosophy she embodies daily, driving her commitment to make a meaningful impact in her community and inspire others to realise their potential.
