ǂEiaseb appointed to African nuclear youth committee

Noble PG ǂEiaseb, the founder and executive director of the Association of Young Generation in Nuclear of Namibia (NAMYGN), has been appointed to the Communications and Publicity Committee of the Africa Young Generation in Nuclear (AYGN), a continental body focused on youth involvement in nuclear science and technology.

The appointment follows what ǂEiaseb describes as a demanding selection process. “Having gone through a rigorous vetting and shortlisting process, I felt both humbled and deeply honoured to be accepted,” he said. “The opportunity to contribute at a continental level is a significant privilege and a responsibility I take very seriously.”

ǂEiaseb said his motivation for joining the committee stems from the critical role communication plays in organisational success. “Effective communication is the backbone of any successful organisation,” he said. “We need clear, credible and accessible communication channels that support engagement across the continent.”

He also stressed the importance of advocacy. “There is still a strong need to demystify nuclear science and technology in Africa,” ǂEiaseb said. “Clear, accurate and impactful messaging is essential.”

ǂEiaseb brings experience in business process improvement, marketing, youth advocacy and knowledge of the nuclear value chain. His academic background includes MBA-level training, master of commerce research and ongoing doctoral studies, which he says strengthen his ability to contribute meaningfully.

A key focus of his role will be inclusive engagement.

“Understanding the diverse cultural, educational and professional backgrounds of our members is essential,” ǂEiaseb said. “Success requires patience, inclusivity and proactivity.”

He acknowledged potential challenges, including coordination across regions and timely approvals of communication materials. “These can be addressed through proactive engagement, clear processes and close coordination with leadership."

ǂEiaseb is particularly excited about outreach and awareness initiatives. “This is a chance to collaborate with changemakers shaping Africa’s future,” he said.

He described the role as a full-circle moment. “This experience will significantly enhance my skills, perspective and leadership capacity."
