BoN promotes Jacques Frye to IT infrastructure deputy director

Jacques Frye brings more than 16 years of experience in Information Technology (IT), with deep expertise in IT infrastructure management, enterprise systems and project execution.

Since joining the Bank of Namibia (BoN) in August 2014 as a senior IT systems engineer, he has played a pivotal role in transforming the Bank’s IT infrastructure landscape and contributing to the maturity of its business continuity management operations.

He currently serves as the technical lead on the bank’s Instant Payments Programme, driving innovation and advancing financial inclusion in Namibia.

Frye holds a bachelor of computer science honours in information technology from the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) and has successfully completed the Management Development Program (MDP) with Stellenbosch Business School.

He is a certified project management professional (PMP) through the Project Management Institute (PMI) and is currently pursuing a postgraduate diploma in Business Management and Administration (BMA) with Stellenbosch Business School.

In his new role, Jacques will oversee the bank’s IT infrastructure operations, ensuring resilient, secure and efficient systems that underpin the bank’s mandate. His responsibilities include infrastructure modernisation, IT operations, and disaster recovery, aligning with the bank’s strategic objectives to deliver responsive and innovative solutions and operational excellence.
